In short, dpi indicates how many dots can be displayed within one inch. In other words, the value specifies the number of image dots per inch. One inch equals 2.54 cm. This is particularly important in the print sector, as high-quality printing requires different resolutions depending on the printing process and image subject. As a general rule: the higher the dpi value, the better the print quality. If the dpi value is too low, the printed image will correspondingly appear pixelated and blurry.

How many dpi do I need?
