Panda Update

At the end of September (September 26, 2014), the rollout of the new Panda update began. Perhaps Google's announcement of the rollout in the UK will also be the last of its kind, as the search engine operator had already announced some time ago that Panda updates would in future be incorporated into the regular search engine algorithm updates, thereby gradually improving the user experience and progressively lowering the rankings of websites with little added value.

As with the previous Panda updates, this update should primarily be seen as a wake-up call for website operators and online shop owners, urging them to build substantial, content-rich pages. Especially in the online shop sector, the user experience benefits from valuable content and comprehensive additional information, while shop operators are rewarded with longer visit durations and lower bounce rates. It is particularly important here to avoid creating redundancies that can mislead and divert users and potential buyers and compromise clarity. If redundancies are necessary in an online shop, a clear hierarchy concept should be established (particularly with regard to search engine optimization), and duplicate content should be clearly identified.
