The go-digital funding program is a program of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), designed to help secure the future of the SME sector in an increasingly digitalized world. Why does the go-digital funding program exist?
Implementing digitalization is a major challenge, especially for small and medium-sized enterprises. On the one hand, companies often lack the digital expertise needed to successfully establish digital transformation within their organization. On the other hand, they frequently lack the capital reserves required to digitally transform their existing business model.
For this reason, the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi) launched the “go-digital” funding program to support SMEs (small and medium-sized enterprises) on their individual path toward a successful digital future.
Who is eligible for the funding program?
The “go-digital” funding program is aimed at legally independent companies in the commercial sector or skilled trades that meet the following requirements:
- Fewer than 100 employees
- Maximum annual turnover or annual balance sheet total of €20 million in the previous year
- At least 1 operating site or branch in Germany
- Eligible for funding under the De minimis Regulation
